WORLD OF WARCRAFT: FOREVER · GETTING STARTED
Prepare for Azeroth
A verified starting point for Forever before launch, separating confirmed systems from anything still changing in beta.
BETA: 17 SEP–21 OCT · LAUNCH: 4 NOV 2026 · LEVEL CAP: 60
What Blizzard has confirmed
A permanent new home
Forever is an evergreen version of Azeroth built alongside modern and Classic WoW. Blizzard is also offering opt-in Transmog, Classic or modern visual presets, HD or SD character models, and official controller support so players can choose how much of the old-school presentation they want.
Journey to level 60
Players adventure from level 1 to 60 across the original continents. The account-wide Legacy System can begin much earlier: most players earn their first Legacy Point at level 25, while reaching 150 in a non-gathering primary tradeskill or exploring the entire world map can also unlock it.
Nine launch classes
Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock and Warrior launch with dedicated Risen Ancients hubs. Forever also adds Camping, a social system tied to professions and exploration, which will be covered separately as beta details settle.
LAUNCH PREPARATION
Useful dates
Beta
Beta access runs from 17 September through 21 October 2026 for eligible upgrade editions.
Name reservation
Eligible upgrade purchases include Early Name Reservation from 27 October through 3 November. Forever uses a two-part character name: the complete first-name and secondary-name combination must be unique within your region, rather than unique to a realm.
Global launch
World of Warcraft: Forever launches globally on 4 November 2026 and is included with an active WoW subscription or Game Time.
LEGACY SYSTEM · CONFIRMED 23 SEPTEMBER
Progress that reaches beyond level 60.
65 Legacy Challenges
Legacy Points come from six categories: Classes, Tradeskills, PvP, Adventure, Dungeons and Raids. Class challenges award points at levels 25, 45 and 60 for each of the nine launch classes. Points are Battle.net account-wide for non-Hardcore characters.
16 points per character
At launch, each character can spend up to 16 account-wide Legacy Points independently across three perk trees: Professions, Adventure and Resourcefulness. Blizzard says a single character can earn enough points to reach the spending cap, so alts are encouraged but not required.
Perks and rewards
Confirmed perks include faster rested experience, earlier access to talent points, cheaper and faster flights, profession bonuses, reputation and Honor boosts, reduced death costs and Camping improvements. Accumulated points also unlock account rewards including a toy, pet, tabard and Spectral Bear mount.
New for Forever: Legacy progression
Legacy unlocks when you earn your first Legacy Point and becomes an account-wide progression system. Levelling, professions, PvP, exploration, dungeons and raids can all contribute points, with each character choosing its own allocation.
