Playing a Warlock in Forever
A practical first-pass guide built from confirmed Forever information. Final talents, rotations, stat priorities and best-in-slot recommendations will be added after live verification.
CLASS IDENTITY
Warlocks are ranged damage dealers who use dark magic, drain vitality and summon demonic servants. Their class fantasy centres on sustained magical pressure and controlling minions rather than direct martial combat.
RACE OPTIONS
Confirmed Horde Warlocks are Orc, Troll and Undead. Alliance has Gnome and Human. Troll Warlock is a newly available Forever combination. Neither Skyborne faction can choose Warlock at launch.
WHO SHOULD PLAY IT?
Choose Warlock if you enjoy ranged spell damage with a permanent companion and darker class flavour. Managing a demon alongside your own spells adds complexity but can provide valuable solo independence.
SKYBORNE
Warlock is not included in either Skyborne class list. Players wanting Zephras Isle and the new race will need a different class; Warlock instead benefits from Forever's expanded Troll option on Horde.
FOREVER SYSTEM TO WATCH
Forever makes spellcaster weapon upgrades more meaningful by adding spell damage and healing to caster-oriented weapons. That should give Warlocks more reasons to care about weapon drops while levelling.
Preparing for 1–60
EARLY JOURNEY
Use the opening levels to learn core resources, survival tools and combat rhythm. Keep useful equipment current rather than following a pre-launch route built on assumptions.
LEVEL 25+
Forever's account-wide Legacy System normally unlocks when your first character reaches level 25. A Warlock main can establish that progression naturally without requiring an alt first.
RULESET
Forever asks you to choose a ruleset rather than a traditional realm. Pick the environment that matches how you actually want to level and play, especially if open PvP would materially change the journey.
LEVEL 60
At launch this section will expand into tested builds, gearing, PvE, PvP and activity-specific recommendations. Until then we separate confirmed systems from beta-dependent optimisation.
